Join us November 18-20 in Coeur d'Alene for our Annual Conference including IFCA Annual Business Meeting and of course our Vendor Tradeshow!
The Coeur d'Alene Resort with its stunning lakeside views and world-famous golf course is poised to be the host for our most memorable conference yet. The Resort is offering a variety of room types to choose from, and all of our conference activities will take place on the Resort property. The Resort Convention Center is an excellent venue for us with plenty of space for our vendors to showcase the latest and greatest they have to offer, and great opportunities for chiefs networking. Our Apparatus Vendors will showcase their amazing equipment just outside the doors of the convention area.
In addition to the great agenda featuring professional development and popular Fire Chief 101 sessions, this year's conference will provide ample opportunity to discuss after-action activities from the COVID-19 pandemic. This has been a year like no other, and now is the time for all of us to gather together and share our experiences, best practices, and plan for whatever the future holds. Wednesday is filled with State and Federal & Affiliated Agency Reports, Extended Division Breakout Sessions (all chiefs encouraged to participate).
Our opening keynote will be Alex Boyd, Assistant Fire Chief, Anchorage Fire Department, "Sled Dog Leadership - Leadership Lessons from the Trail". Alex has over 21 years with the Anchorage Fire Department and over 25 years int he fire service.
The core of "Sled Dog Leadership" is within the behaviors that get the most successful teams to the end of the trail safely. Sled Dog Leadership requires deft application of team selection, development, training, relationship building, discipline, conflict management and team care to find the trail to success.
We in the Fire Service can use these inspirational lessons and lead within our own teams to create a healthy culture of “Sled Dogs” pulling for company and organizational success.
Our Annual Business Meeting will be held Wednesday morning and will include new member introductions and Challenge Coin ceremony. We will once again offer up exceptional breakouts and general sessions, as well as networking with our generous vendors. And NEW! This Year!
